Ingredient Spotlight: Tyrostat®

Ingredient Spotlight: Tyrostat®, also known as Rumex Occidentalis extract, is a natural skin lightener that works by inhibiting melanin production by the enzyme Tyrosinase. Rumex Occidentalis is a uncommon perennial herb native to the Pacific Northwest. This ingredient can be found in the glo therapeutics Brightening Serum.

How does Tyrostat Work with the Skin?

Tyrostat works as being a tyrosinase inhibitor. Tyrosinase is the enzyme responsible for melanin production in our cells.

Because Tyrostat inhibits the production of this enzyme, it reduces the skin pigmentation by limiting both melanin production and skin reddening.
