Benzoyl Peroxide For The Treatment Of Acne
Benzoyl peroxide is an organic compound that the World Health Organization (WHO) lists as an essential medicine. This means that this member of the peroxide family is one of the medications that are an elementary makeup of all basic healthcare systems. Benzoyl peroxide is very versatile and is therefore used in many applications. One prominent use for this product is for the treatment of acne.
Let us examine the properties of benzoyl peroxide as to why it would be effective in treating acne:
- It is highly antiseptic.
- It has bleaching properties/oxidizer.
- It is an effective peeling agent.
- It is antimicrobial.
All these properties create the optimal environment for treating acne as well as the scarring often associated with it as well. Due to its oxidizing nature, benzoyl peroxide goes deep into the tissue attacking the acne at its root. From its initial contact with the skin, this product starts destroying harmful bacteria. Additionally, its peeling properties cause the acne to dry up quickly. The dried skin then peels away as new skins regenerates in the process.
Benzoyl peroxide comes in many different forms for the treatment of acne. It can be obtained as a cream, gel, cleanser (liquid or foam), lotion, or medicated pads or sponges. Benzoyl peroxide is an acne treatment medication that has been in use for many years and still continues for that purpose because of its continued effectiveness. The most common and safest strength available is 2.5 %.

Here's what I have found to be one of the most effective Benzoyl Peroxide cleansers out there!
I use to get this cleanser from my doctor, he since retired and i have had a hard time finding it and my skin was a mess without it. It was the only thing that worked. Finally i found it… thanks skinpatico, my face looks great and pimples are gone! I would recommend this cleanser to any one!

Dermatologist formulated and dermatologist recommended, the Clinical Formula BP Pumice cleanser is not the most popular BP cleansers but it could be one of the most effective.
2.5% benzoyl peroxide, reaches deep into the pores of your skin to free it of its impurities such as acne, blemishes, blackheads and even the occasional breakouts.
Natural Glycerin to hydrates the skin, and will not harm sensitive skin. I have found this cleanser does not cause over excessive drying as with other BP cleansers.
Buffing granules (pumice) that causes a slight exfoliation for a deep pore cleansing and to remove dead skin cells that may lead to future acne breakouts.
All-in-all, the Clinical Formula BP Pumice Cleanser is one of the best BP cleansers out there. I use it for myself and I would recommend it to anyone who would like to take control of blemished skin.
I've been using different acne products for YEARS, Proactive, Clinique, Shiseido, Clean & Clear (which actually some what helped)..the list goes on but I've never seen clear results like this. This has proven to be the best one I've ever used. I have pretty oily skin and get cystic acne from time to time. I might die a little if it is ever discontinued. Try it I highly doubt you'll regret it!
Warning: Never Combine Hydroquinone with Benzoyl Peroxide or Resorcinol >
